Following the well-earned retirement of attorney Charles A. Pinney, III (“CAP”), Doug Cullins established Cullins Estate Planning to build upon the legacy of forty years of service provided by Pinney Cullins, LLP.

Cullins Estate Planning provides clients top-level legal counsel at affordable prices. I promise to provide you the personal attention, compassion, and commitment you deserve. Working together, I will help you plan for your family’s future, secure your legacy, and provide for future generations.

My clients come from all walks of life, including physicians, pilots, first responders, military, and entrepreneurs. I represent a broad range of local businesses, including the hospitality industry, real estate, music, and surf industries. Cullins Estate Planning is widely experienced in tailoring estate plans to fit each individual, family or business, whether simple or complex. My goal is to always protect your assets in the most efficient manner.

As a testament to my thorough and thoughtful counsel and close personal relationships developed, most of my clients have enjoyed a long period of representation from inception to final estate and trust administration.

Doug Cullins
Founder

Doug’s practice focuses on estate planning, trust administration, probate, and business entity development. Doug’s compassion and thoughtful strategies have helped hundreds of families through difficult and emotional situations. He is an advocate for seniors looking for quality long-term care solutions while minimizing the impact to their estates. Doug’s thoughtful approach to estate planning has helped numerous families and small business owners preserve their wealth for future generations. His clients enjoy peace of mind knowing they receive top-tier legal advice coupled with the empathy and discretion required of delicate family situations. Doug also works with small business owners to reduce potential liability while providing options for future expansion.

Doug is a retired U.S. Marine Corps officer and licensed California Attorney. As a Marine, he was decorated for valor on the battlefield and received the Purple Heart medal. He is a proven leader both in and out of combat, where he continues to serve with integrity and loyalty. Doug has been personally recognized for his leadership and advancement of wounded warrior care initiatives by Members of the U.S. Congress, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and the Commandant of the Marine Corps.

Doug continues to serve the veteran and first responder community in his pro-bono practice and is active with several veteran non-profit organizations. As a native San Diegan, he enjoys the ocean, surfing, sailing, and the backcountry wilderness.

Cap's own history is as diverse as his clients. He is a graduate from the United States Naval Academy, has a Master of Science Degree in aeronautical engineering, flew fighter jets in the U.S. Marine Corps, served as a test pilot at the Naval Weapons Center, China Lake, CA, and then flew for American Airlines, all while obtaining a Juris Doctor degree from Western State University.

Cap is a mainstay of the San Diego and Del Mar communities. In addition to his career of service as a U.S. Marine, he continues to give back to our community in the same selfless manner. He serves the board of directors for the Boys and Girls Club of San Dieguito, the San Diego Air & Space Museum, and the Flying Leatherneck Historical Foundation. Cap currently sits on committees which evaluate and award scholarships to high school seniors and is actively involved with the Community Emergency Response Team of Del Mar.

Cap is a long time resident of Del Mar, is married to a renowned realtor, has three grown children and one spectacular granddaughter.
